William Hagen & Orion Weiss

William Hagen (violin) and Orion Weiss (piano), both established top rank chamber musicians and recitalists, will come together as a Duo for their performance at the Opera House. Hagen has performed at major venues throughout the world such as Wigmore Hall and the Louvre. Weiss is in much demand and has performed in many prestigious locations, as well as performing with the Ariel and Pacifica Quartets. He is a former student at Interlochen and has been a Gilmore Young Artist.
Beijing Guitar Duo

Guitarists Meng Su & Yameng Wang will present a program including “translations” from Debussy and Fauré to the music of Granados, Albéniz, and Piazzolla. Meng Su and Yamen Wang have performed around the world in halls such as the Concertgebouw, Palau de Musica, Tchaikovsky Hall and the National Theatre in Beijing. Regarded as one of the best guitar duos in the world, hearing them is a chance to get away from the mundane and experience the extraordinary!

Evren Ozel

American pianist Evren Ozel made his debut at age eleven with the Minnesota Orchestra. Now 23, he has established himself as a virtuosic soloist and chamber player. Evren will present a program called “Music of the Night,” featuring works by Beethoven (the Moonlight Sonata), Debussy, Bartok, Schumann, and finally the exciting and demanding “Gaspard de la nuit” by Ravel.
Pacifica Quartet

The multiple Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. The Pacifica Quartet is a world-renowned ensemble in the prime of a distinguished career. We welcome the Pacifica Quartet to Cheboygan to join the ranks of some of the world’s greatest quartets who have played at the Opera House recently, including the American String Quartet, the Ariel Quartet and the Escher Quartet.

Cheng2 Duo

The Cheng Squared Duo, Canadian brother-and-sister Bryan and Silvie Cheng, made an impression in Chamberfest 2023 with their outstanding performance. We are very pleased to welcome them back. The siblings have been making music together almost all their lives. Listeners can expect an exhilarating experience by their mastery of their instruments and by the spontaneous joy of their performance.
Clayton Stephenson

Since Clayton Stephenson’s visit to Cheboygan in 2023, he has taken home the top prize at the Nina Simone Piano Competition in Cincinnati. Clayton, clearly among the rising stars in the world of piano performance, will bring the exciting “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Mussorgsky, among other works. We are pleased and proud to welcome him back to the Cheboygan Opera House to conclude our 2024 season of Chamberfest.
