Seriously, have fun. I would love to see kids calling up their grandparents or great-grandparents and interviewing them about their experiences at the Opera House. Or vice versa! I would love to hear what Cheboygan remembers about this great institution. I would like to hear your wildest dreams and visions about what the Opera House can bring to Cheboygan. I want to know what the Opera House means to you and your families.
I need some inspiration.
We are looking for ways to inspire you, too. Check our Facebook page at facebook.com/pg/thejewelofthenorth/ for our newest Artist of the Day feature.
We are promoting local artists, playing one day of their music (OK, it might last more than one day as we figure out what we’re doing) We will show their photographs, or pictures of their sculptures and paintings.
We will print their stories, poems and plays. Format is optional, videos, writings, photos, audio. We are starting with Nathan Towne, our artist in residence. We will follow with the photos of Tony Johnson, president of the Cheboygan Photography Club. We are looking for others who brighten your day, who make you smile or cry, or whose work you think should be shared with others. We want everyone to see what Cheboygan artists of all ages are up to, what magic our friends and families can create. If you have an artist you want to nominate, drop me a line at kathy@theoperahouse.org
